Unique Island Natural Feature - Fresh Water Lake Biotope

• 1600 SQM large fresh water lake built as a biotope in the middle of the island • Contains water lilies and aquatic plants • Swimming area without chlorine where you can relax with a calming swim • Lake is surrounded by 20 m high mangrove trees on one side and 20 m high palm trees on the other side • Stated as unique in the Maldives - "There is no other island like this in the Maldives"

• Baa-Atoll designated as a UNESCO World Biosphere in 2011 due to the natural values of the atoll • Hanifaru in Baa Atoll - uninhabited island with a natural underwater bay • Locally known as "Vandumaafaru adi" • Bay is home to a large number of whale sharks, grey sharks, manta rays • Also serves as a nursery for these species
